Six weeks ago, we were wondering if people were going to show up to shop for plants in this uncertain time. Rather than cave to the anxiety and the uncertainty, the Nanticoke Gardens’ team decided to implement an early season curb side pick up program as well as a Mother’s Day basket pick up program in and effort to try and minimize traffic and make customers feel comfortable and safe.
As the season moved on and the weather finally broke, it was apparent how important gardening was to people during this time of isolation. So much so that, at the end May, our inventory levels are not able to sustain staying open retail for another 4 weeks. That being said, instead of closing on our normal date of June 30th, we will be closing for the season on Sunday May 31st.
We would like to thank our staff for sticking with us throughout all of the uncertainty and for working on the ‘front lines’ watering, cashiering, transplanting, filling benches, delivering plants, picking orders and all the rest. Without them we are nothing. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We would also like to thank all of our customers, old and new for your interest in gardening and your support of our garden center. For all of you, we are grateful.
We will be open for retail Friday and Saturday from 8am – 8pm and Sunday 12 noon until 5pm. At 5pm Sunday we will be closed for the 2020 season.
Thanks again for supporting your local grower.
